In the middle of nowhere out in the green rolling hills of Vista, CA sits a little run down cottage with spectacular views! You can hear the roosters all day and if you listen carefully, and the sounds of little piglets squealing and goats maaing! This is how we spent Sunday… me… Peter… Tim and Marc. Tim and Marc were rummaging through all the metal type out in the shed while Peter and I rummaged upstairs. Treasures! I didn’t get a shot of the great vase Marc found or the any of the stuff we salvaged (although, you’ll be seeing it in the days and months to come!) but everyone left tired, dirty and happy! Quite a day!

For the last three weekends I have been learning the craft of Mono printing. The craft is wonderful and full of surprises. Here are some samples of the art that I created in the class.

Here is just a sampling of some of the great things we made in our screen printing workshop. The students got two colors done in one class, which is pretty awesome. These posters would look great in any room!

As you could probably already tell….WE ARE IN LOVE WITH OUR NEW SCREEN PRINTING TECHNIQUE! Here is something we did in the studio recently. Isn’t it lovely. Wouldn’t you love to have this in your home. We will be selling these and other one of a kind screen prints at Del Mar’s upcoming Taste and Art Stroll in October.

We really love type and we really love circles, so this just came naturally! How awesome is this bag! We have many mesh bags that are still blank so if you are interested in having a letter added, let us know!

Smaller scale collage lends itself well to collaboration. During a zine workshop (a zine is a self-published, underground mini-magazine) an assortment of artists and creative types gather around one large table, sharing in the creative experience. A particular kind of energy occurs in the process. The experience nurtures synergy and courage. And it’s really fun! We hope to inspire you to come to one of our Zine classes. After 1 you’ll be hooked!

I know I am on to something and I really can’t stop this thing. I am hooked, so for now I am making as many recycled, circle collages as I can. They take so much time. They are so much fun to make. In fact I think I will go to the studio now! Hope you get as much pleasure just looking at it. Enjoy!

Cereal boxes, gift cards, ice cream bars, beer boxes, toilet paper rolls, old plastic bags, oh my! We can’t wait to break into our newest bag of recyclables! These items are just waiting to be turning into something special! Please check back with us over the coming weeks and months to see what we make of this mess!
