Earlier this month I had the pleasure of hearing Jeffrey Bale speak about “Pleasure Gardens” and show an amazing slide show of some of his favorite gardens all over the world. The guy has it nailed. He works 8 months a year and travels for 4… yikes! I want his job! Have a look at his site… it’s AMAZING! Jeffery could make any garden look fantastic. Using high quality stone work, and pebble mosaics he transforms spaces into intricate gardens. After seeing some of his work, I was inspired to pull out my old “raku” tiles. I am going to finally find a use for them in the garden… stay tuned!

It’s always a find, when you come across weathered boxes! I recently purchased these vintage boxes (middle photo) in Brooklyn.Perfect for the home or office. I’m slowly gathering weathered wood so I can have a box making party! Wanna come!

On a little trip to Anthropologie I saw some great hoop earrings for $45. I decided to make a pair of my own after finding a hammered silver hoop belt with similar size hoops at the local thrift store. Beautiful!

This palce is an old school crafts store. Hidden away in Lemon Grove this store is an absolute treasure. Filled with yawning doll heads, wooden things to paint, beads, ribbons and doll parts… you can easily pass the time uncovering things you never knew you needed! If you need a little inspiration this store is for you. The shelves are always stocked and the ladies working there know their crafts. When were there they were giving a very affordable class! Next time one of us will be there too!

I use Paisley in my design work and have collected some nice fabrics covered in it over the years… I found this remnant at a thrift store recently and it will come in extra handy on the new bag designs I am working on! Be on the look-out!
